RESULTS: Patients with NAFLD had initially lower concentrations of α-tocopherol and CoQ10-TOTAL in blood, plasma, and platelets vs the control group. Mitochondrial respiration showed relatively higher CI-linked LEAK respiration, lower CI-linked OXPHOS and CII-linked ET capacity. Plasma TBARS concentration was higher in H2 group. After 60 days of supplementary therapy the concentration of CoQ10 in platelets significantly increased and plasma TBARS decreased in H2 group. In both groups α-tocopherol concentration in platelets increased and β-carotene in plasma decreased. The improvement in parameters of mitochondrial respiration was statistically significant in H2 group. CONCLUSIONS: Adjuvant therapy with HRW decreased oxidative stress, increased CoQ10 concentration and improved platelet mitochondrial function in patients with NAFLD. Long term supplementation with HRW could be a promising strategy for acceleration of health

recovery in patients with NAFLD. Supported by grant VEGA 2/0063/18.
