objavili ďalšie bohaté ložiská. Najväčšiu ťaž bu dosiahli starohorské bane začiatkom 16. sto ročia.

– Antigua montana, Veterusmontes – Staré Hory. Začiatkom 16. storočia, keď bane mali v prenájme bohatí Thurzovci a Fuggerovci, zažilo baníctvo a hutníc tvo najväčší rozkvet. Vtedy boli postavené v Starých Horách a v Jelenci huty na spracovanie medi. Dnes už zo slávnej minulosti veľa neostalo. Priamo v obci sa nachádza zabud nutá štôlňa do bane Haliar, možno ešte zaujímavejšia je bývalá šachta Terézia na Richtárovej.

The mining history of Staré Hory began in 1006 in the small valley of the Haliar, during the reign of the first Hungarian king Stephen. Later in the 13 th century the mining of copper ore had also spread to Špania Dolina, where new rich deposits were discovered. The peak period for the mining of silver in the mines of Staré Hory was in the early 16 th century. The name of the village comes from the label “Old mines” - Antigua montana, Veterus Montes - Old Mountain. It experienced the biggest boom of mining and metallurgy in the early 16 th century, when the mines were leased to the wealthy Thurzo and Fugger families. At that time in Staré Hory and Jelenec, copper smelters for ore processing were built. Today not much of its glorious past is left. Directly in the village is a forgotten shaft that goes to the Haliar mine and perhaps more interesting is the former Terézia shaft that has an entrance on Richtarová Street.

Die Geschichte des Bergbaus in Staré Hory beginnt schon im Jahr 1006 im kleinen Tal Haliar zur Regierungszeit des ersten ungarischen Königs Stephan. Erst später, im 13. Jahrhundert,

wurde der Kupferabbau auf das Gebiet um Špania Dolina ausgedehnt, wo reiche Vorkommen entdeckt wurden. Der meiste Abbau in Staré Hory erfolgte zu Beginn des 16. Jahrhunderts. Der Name der Gemeinde stammt aus der Bezeichnung „Alte Mine“ - Antigua montana, Veterus montes - Alte Berge. Die größte Bedeutung erlangte das Berg- und Hüttenwesen zu Beginn des 16. Jahrhundert, als die Minen an die Familien Thurzo und Fugger vermietet wurden. Damals wurden in Staré Hory und in Jelenec Hütten zur Kupferverarbeitung errichtet. Heute blieb aus der glorreichen Vergangenheit nur mehr wenig übrig. Direkt im Ort befindet sich der in Vergessenheit geratene Stollen in die Mine Haliar, noch interessanter ist vielleicht der ehemalige Schacht Terézia bei Richtárová.
