We can conclude that the beneficial effects of H2 and VitE may be through reduction of inflammation and the activation of Nrf2, which upregulate antioxidant enzymes. Already short-term treatment of irradiated rats exhibited cardioprotective effect suggesting possible benefit of oncological patients that underwent radiotherapy.
