Kniha o Španej Doline a okolí

Vďaka výrobným prevádzkam bola obec aj administratívnym centrom doliny. Už v roku 1929 vybudovali v obci vlastný vodovod a v roku 1932 zaviedli dokonca elektrinu do domácností. Pravidelne sa tu konali tradičné tajovské jarmoky.

Š kolu v Tajove založili jezuiti v r. 1657 a slúžila nepretržite až do roku 1979. Svojho času ju navštevovali aj slávni rodáci Jozef Murgaš a Jozef Gregor Tajovský. V záhrade pred budovou stojí chránený tis. Má viac ako 100 rokov.

U prostred obce stojí rodný dom spisovateľa Jozefa Gregora Ta jovského, v ktorom je inštalovaná expozícia z jeho života. V dome je zriadená aj pamätná izba Jozefa Murgaša, svetoznámeho vyná lezcu a reverenda, pôsobiaceho v Spoje ných štátoch.

Nad obcou je v prevádzke autokemping, niekoľko horských chát a hotel. Priamo v obci a v neďalekých lyžiarskych strediskách Králiky a Kordíky sú pre vyzná vačov zjazdového lyžovania k dispozícii lyžiarske vleky. No najkrajšie sú lyžiarske bežecké trate vedené po turistických chodníkoch a cyklotrasách. Dank der Produktionswerkstätte wurde die Gemeinde auch zum administrativen Zentrum des Tales. Schon im Jahr 1929 hatte die Gemeinde eine eigene Wasserversorgung und im Jahr 1932 wurde Strom zu den Haushalten geführt. Regelmäßig wurden hier traditionelle Jahrmärkte veranstaltet. Die Schule in Tajov wurde von Jesuiten im Jahr 1657 gegründet und im Betrieb war sie ununterbrochen bis zum Jahr 1979. Die Schule wurde damals auch von den berühmten Söhnen der Gemeinde Jozef Murgaš und Jozef Gregor Tajovský besucht. Im Garten vor dem Gebäude steht eine geschützte Eibe. Sie ist mehr als 100 Jahre alt. In der Ortsmitte steht das Geburtshaus des Schriftstellers Jozef Gregor Tajovský, in dem eine Ausstellung aus seinem Leben eingerichtet ist. Im Haus befindet sich auch ein Gedenkzimmer, dass Jozef Murgaš gewidmet ist, der ein weltberühmter Erfinder und Reverend in den USA war. Oberhalb der Gemeinde gibt es einen Campingplatz, einige Berghütten und ein Hotel. Skibegeisterte haben die Möglichkeit ihrem Hobby direkt im Ort oder in nahegelegenen Skigebieten Králiky und Kordíky nachzugehen. Am Schönsten jedoch sind Langlaufloipen, die entlang der Wander- und Radwege geführt werden.

Thanks to production facilities, the village also served as the administrative centre for the valley. There was a common water supply built in the village in 1929 and even in 1932, when the household electricity network was introduced. Regular traditional fairs are held yearly in Tajov. A school was founded in Tajov by Jesuits in 1657 and it had been in operation until 1979. It was also attended by some famous natives of Tajov: Jozef Murgaš and Jozef Gregor Tajovský. In front of the building - in its garden - grows a protected yew tree. It is older than 100 years. In the middle of the village stands one famous house - the birthplace of writer Jozef Gregor Tajovský - with an installed permanent exhibition of his life. In the house is also the memorial room of Jozef Murgaš, the famous inventor who became a Reverend in the USA. There is a campsite above the village, a few chalets and a hotel. For ski enthusiasts there are ski lifts, which operate directly within the village and in the nearby ski resorts of Králiky and Kordíky. The most beautiful ones are the cross-country skiing trails that are used as hiking trails and bike paths in the summer.
